This time, Drewzy took a tumble off his bike…or got into a bar fight. You choose.
Hello?
Well, I’m now back to the world of those who verbally communicate…mostly. I am now on moderate vocal rest as opposed to strict vocal rest which means I can talk for 5-6 minutes per hour. So, I’m back to being able to function, meaning I can go to the store without an escort and/or dry erase board. But, I’m still not able to sustain long conversations or normal parenting! I return to the doctor next week to find out what’s next.
love this song
When I am weak, unable to speak, still I will call you by name: Creator, Maker, Life-sustainer, Comforter, Healer, My Redeemer, Lord and King, Beginning and the End, I am, yes, I am.
more words of wisdom from the speechless
Okay, so maybe yesterday’s Bible verse wasn’t totally appropriate since I am not choosing to hold my tongue. But, I still thought it was worth noting. I must say that living in silence has been teaching me some things. Here’s some thoughts for today:
I charaded to Mark last night how frustrated I am to have so many thoughts in my head and be unable to speak them. He said, “Well, I guess it’s better to have a lot of thoughts and no words to express them than to have a lot of words with no thought behind them.”
Hopefully, tomorrow, I’ll get the okay to speak again and my vocal cords will work to enable me to do so. In the meantime, I’ll just be thankful for the help I have gotten thus far (my mom was a great intepreter at the mall for me today as I had some things I had to do today) and how though I cannot speak, God still speaks (and, I must say that it does seem louder when I’m silent).
