I have been wanting to get school supplies (so it’s one last thing to think about) but I have no idea what I’m supposed to buy yet!! Send me the info PASD!! :)
That brought back my former days of TEACHING PANIC…is my room ready/how many students do I have/will they like me/will they be eager learners/are my back-to-school-packets prepared/what will I wear on the first day of school??????
I LOVE school supplies! I get giddy when they start putting them out! I started on Monday – I teach 2nd – and my kids came today! Whew! You should see my room…it’s like that picture…times 20!
happy school year!
PS…did you read the great idea on China Adopt Talk about making the wait visual for kids? …a good idea
I just smile at this picture! As a kid I loved shopping for school supplies, and when I was a teacher I loved the promise of a new school year too! Now it just makes me anxious to get that first supply list for my little ones. :)
This post makes me want to cry!! My oldest goes to 1st grade in just under a month, and I can’t even think about it I’m so sad about all the time he won’t be with ME!!!!
Awhile back you posted a comment on my blog….I’ve been meaning to write to you ever since (or maybe I already have……my memory is less than good these days). I have actually been READING your blog for probably well over a year, I just don’t comment (it’s a time thing mostly). So when you “found” my blog I thought that was pretty funny.
I was reading your last post, and loved it! 2 years….my how things really change, but what a gift the wait CAN be if we change our focus. It was a good reminder.
You found me through New Day, right? I LOVE that blog, their work….and their amazingly beautiful kids!!! (Though, there is one in particular I’m praying diligently for…) How’d you find New Day?
Just wanted to say “HI”- and stop stalking your blog and become an official commenter! :)
Hi Kelly! Love me the school supplies :) I loved them as a kid, love them now! We have home schooled for the past 4 years and there was nothing quite like receiving boxes of school supplies & books in the MAIL! (2 of my favorites combined!!)
Yes, our baby girl was from New Day!! Can’t even stand how much in love with them I am in…She was part of them for almost the whole 3 years of her life BU (before us). I wish I would have slowed down & enjoyed ore of our visit there (I think I was frozen in fear!)
I don’t know much about the back to school prayer night – it is one night for one hour, covering our students in prayer. I know there are groups (Moms in Touch) that meet either monthly or twice a month to pray for the specific students & faculty of their kids’ specific schools. I havent found a group like that yet, but think I would really enjoy it. My intention is to be much more prayerful about covering my kiddos while they are away!
I keep thinking of all the adversity that Jesus faced and I KNOW His mama (& Father!) were praying for Him :)
Are you trying to adopt a kiddo from New Day? Congrats on the decision to go Special Needs – it has changed our lives :) I’d be happy to talk to you anytime!
