It’s a strange feeling this year, knowing that we have a daughter somewhere and she is not home with us. The only comfort in that is knowing that it is our last Christmas without her and the fact that we know that God is near to her and to all of the children who are without parents. May He hold her today for us and whisper in her ear that she is loved.
There’s a little girl trembling on a cold December morn,
Crying for mama’s arms
At an orphanage just outside a little China town
There the forgotten are
But half a world away, I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine
It’s Christmas time again, but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you’re somewhere else alone
And so tonight, I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart, I wish you Merry Christmas
As I hang the tinsel on the tree and watch the twinkling lights
I’m warmed by the fire’s glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white,
Make angels in the snow
But half a world away, you try your best to fight the tears
And hope that heaven’s angels come to carry you here
It’s Christmas time again, but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you’re somewhere else alone
And so tonight, I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
And tell you from my heart, I wish you Merry Christmas
Christmas is a time to celebrate the holy child
And we celebrate His perfect gift of love
He came to earth to give his life
And prepare a place for us
So we could have a home with him above
It’s Christmas time again and now you’re home
Your family is here so you will never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleep, I’ll hold you in my arms
And I’ll tell you from my heart, and I’ll you from my heart
I wish you Merry Christmas

Oh Kelly, I know this must have been a hard Christmas for you, but I just know that you will be posting this song next year with the emphasis on the last verse, “It’s Christmas time again and now you’re home.”
Happy New Year…a year of good things I am sure!

LOVE that song. It’s just SO perfect for so many of us. I’m glad there are adoptive parents who have a platform to write music like this that speaks right to the heart of where so many of us are at!!
I know how you are feeling….I feel like this is our last Christmas without our son too….it’s a wonderful and yet difficult feeling!
Praying for 2010 to be our year….and EARLY 2010 at that! :)

Good luck with the special needs list. We are also with living hope and feel very blessed to have been matched with such a healthy child. We turned our first match down back in October. Follow your heart. I am Looking forward to seeing your daughter.

Dear, dear, Kelly! I soooo understand how you feel. If you check my blog at this time last year–I posted a very similar post–and we had our Izabella the following year! I know your wait is already longer than ours–but I truly believe, God has unfolded so many details of His plan and that the vision of Lydia is so much clearer today than it ever has been…and surely He will show you her face in 2010! I for one can not wait!
Praying for an amazing year of miracles and blessings for you and your amazing family!

I love this song!! It was 2 Christmases for us, coming home on the DAY of the third Christmas – sweet memories. (it actually IS sweet in hindsight!) But so hard knowing that your little girl needs her Mommy.

I am ever always praying for your little girl too, ever since you encouraged us with your adoption music giveaway, every time I hear a song from that cd I pray for you. I know how hard the wait is… God has just the right little girl all ready for you and in HIS perfect timing you’ll be singing into her sweet ear yourself!
