As most of you probably know, I’m helping a sweet friend of mine Helen (who is actually Lydia’s godmother) with Jiayin Designs. I’ve really enjoyed my part in this venture so far as I’ve gotten to connect with a lot of adoptive families. I want to highlight two of those families here and share the story behind their precious treasures.
This is the Chryst family. I connected with Nicole back in March and have been excited to watch them start the adoption process with our agency. For her daughter Peyton’s 5th birthday, Nicole bought her a very special gift for her to treasure–a charm that says big sister in Chinese. What a wonderful way to invite Peyton into the adoption process and help make Brooke real to her. I love the picture of Peyton looking down at her new necklace–it’s as if I can feel her pride over having a real piece of jewelry now that she’s 5 as well as her wonder and excitement over what it means. Nicole is an amazing photographer, don’t you think? You can see the rest of the pictures of Peyton opening her gift here.
Jiayin Designs has definitely been a great experience for me thus far to be a part of.

I love your post. Made me a little teary. :) I gave the necklace to Nicole. It was like passing a million dollars to her!! She loves it, too. I can’t wait to get my new ones. I know that Ava, Quinn, my Mom and I will ALL love our necklaces. And most of all, I know that McKenna’s Foster Mom will treasure that beautiful necklace forever.
