Who wouldn’t like a playdate with this beautiful baby girl?
Okay, so maybe I enjoyed meeting Emma more than Lydia did. This is pretty much the extent of their interaction.
Maybe we won’t even have to look at each other.
Love both of their expressions in this one.
Girls, now, I know you lived about 650 miles away from each other in China (about the same distance between Phili and Chattanooga, TN for those of you who aren’t too numbers minded when it comes to distances), but you could still say hello to each other and smile a little.
Almost got a picture of the two of them together sort of playing.
Better luck next time.
Good news is that they are both totally on target with their parallel play. Maybe another year before they actually start playing together.

Who said playdates are just for the chidren? I think they’re so fun for mom’s too–more so sometimes. What FUN! And so adorable–both of them! Lydia is doing some serious concentrating on her play! Such a serious girl!

We had the same experience in April with Ruthie. We took her to see a friend from her orphanage that we actually have pictures of her with in China. She was completely indifferent toward her. I guess that just means they are very comfortable with their new families.

So funny! Kind of “If I ignore her maybe she won’t stay and I’ll have mom and dad all to myself!” Beautiful, beautiful girls!!!!

Aww, where does Emma live? So nice to have playdates with families who are set-up with the same family dynamics! I do hope we can meet sometime soon.
And thank you for seeing my friend, Andrea, when she received her referral. It killed me that we weren’t there with her when she received her wonderful news. We’ve been through everything together these last four years and I can’t believe China was late with referrals in July. Well, I’ll make sure I’m there when Andrea comes home with Phoebe! Tee hee, especially since my husband will be coming home with her. LOL!
Looking forward to meeting you soon. Oh, I think I will see you at LHAA’s reunion, right?

What darling girls! (And yes, my daughter and her “friend” from church JUST started interacting a wee bit recently…it’s all about that parallel play!!) :) I can tell Lydia is thriving in your home!

Oh my goodness are those girls precious! I am so glad you posted Emma’s website. I couldn’t find it in my e-mail so I must have erased it by mistake. It looks like you all had lots and lots of fun!!!
