Sunday Snapshots {A visit from Tink}

1.23.11

Her front tooth had been loose for over a month. Having only lost one tooth so far and very anxious to lose another, she was wiggling it like crazy….until I mentioned that it would be fun to have it come out in Disney. No more wiggling. Now, it became her mission to hold onto this thing at least until this coming Friday when we arrive at Disney World. I confess that I was into the mission myself–I mean, they have to do something magical for kids who lose a tooth there, right?

But, yesterday, when she woke up, we saw this…

and I’m not talking about her Medusa-like hair do. I’m talking about her nasty front tooth. Loose teeth make me feel a little woozy. Ick.

Mark was after her all day to let him pull it wiggle it. Nope. She wouldn’t let him. But, a trip to Chick Fil A for dinner and some play in the kids indoor playground did the trick. Drew rushed out to me, yelling “Ashlyn lost her tooth!” Just what every mother in the place wanted to hear, I’m sure. I rush in there with napkins, picturing a crime scene. But, no, this tooth was so ready to come out that it just dropped on out when she bumped her face on some equipment. No crime scene, and nothing a little ice cream cone couldn’t take care of.

So, she put her tooth under her pillow and found this letter there this morning.

Poor Tinkerbell. I bet it was hard to leave that 70 degree sunny weather to come up here to the 9 degree night we had last night just for a tooth.

    LOL! Some time ago Kaitlyn wrote a note to Tinkerbell, put it in the mailbox, and sat on the front porch till the mailman came so he could be sure to take it. She wanted Tinkerbell to tell he tooth fairy to make her teeth loose so that they would fall out and she would get money like her brother. You see, Tinkerbell and Tooth fairy are tight like that! ;-)
    Anyway our sweet mailman (who also lives in my neighborhood) took the letter and left her one a few days later from Tinkerbell telling her I’m sure your teeth will be getting loose soon. And included some Tinkerbell coloring pages.
    She’s still waiting for that loose tooth!

    Now no more pictures of loose teeth…or at least put on a warning for me (-:

    One of our girls lost her very first tooth on a trip to Disney World. She too was on a mission to have it happen there! I love the letter Tink left–so much fun! Maybe she will return her tooth while you are on your trip? I know you are going to have a blast!!

    Oh my goodness. She is the most beautiful thing. What a doll. Such a cutie! I love when kids lose their first teeth. It just makes their smiles out of this world adorable : )

    oh, I am excited to see what the 5 days will bring, when Tink brings the tooth back. So cute!I loved how at the restaurant she was worried about the 3 tiny drops of blood, but yes the ice cream seemed to make it all better! Love you Ashy girl!

    The snaggle tooth look is so funny! Although, she looks adorable with the missing tooth. So glad to hear that your kiddos are feeling better.

    That Tink is the BEST. I mean it- the best- what a GREAT note she wrote! And, you know, unlike a lot of kids, Ashlyn can pull off a missing front tooth with STYLE! :)

    So, so excited for you!!!!! :)

Hello

I overthink everything. This blog is a prime example. Make yourself a cup of coffee and sit down for a read. Actually, make that a pot of coffee. There’s a lot of overthinking here.
