I’m loving this giveaway. Such a fun combination–all you moms of girls need to enter this one.
I’m a part of a FB group for local adoptive moms. And, so is Stephanie Farley which is really cool because she’s sorta famous, you know. She wrote the cutest children’s book perfect for our little girls. It’s called God Made You Beautiful. The message comes across loud and clear–it might be fun to play dress up and get all dolled up, but that’s not what makes our little girls beautiful. God made us all beautiful. We all look different, and that’s something valuable and worthy of celebration. Each page has a scripture verse on the bottom too that supports the message. The perfect book for all little girls–especially ones who may have physical differences they may be sensitive about.
And, the Farley family just announced that they are adopting! And, all the proceeds from the sales of her books ($10 for a signed copy) will go towards the $30,000 their adoption will cost. I’d love to hear that she’s sold 3,000 copies, wouldn’t you? Buy a copy for your favorite little girl–and enter here to win another copy to giveaway.
I’ve got another friend–wish she were local, but she’s not. But, she and I used to be local peeps way back when. Sharee is a terrific writer and has done a great job with her blog describing her journey through serious postpartum depression following the birth of their first daughter Sydney 5 years ago. She’s now only weeks away from bringing home a newborn baby girl via a domestic adoption, and she’s done a great job already blogging about that journey.
To help them with their fundraising efforts, a cousin of hers sent her a ton of the most adorable hair candy. Oh my. Too cute. An owl, a ladybug, a koala bear, a bunny, a soccer ball, a cow, an elephant. What a gift of love from her cousin. And, what a great way for people to buy something super cute and help them bring Maggie home (only $5 each and 5 for $20). And, you can start your collection by entering to win these 5 here.
A really neat giveaway combination that you can make into a special mother-daughter moment. Make some hot cocoa, give the hair bows, then read the book together.

I’d love a copy of God Made You Beautiful to read to our soon to be daughter who is in an orphanage in Congo right now. What a lovely story to share with her.
Lindsay says
It’s hard to pick a favorite hair accessory, but I narrowed it down to the little bird clips in frame #32. So cute!

Oh dear…reading Sharee’s blog is going to be occupying my time this weekend! Favorite clips: owls, giant flowers, birds!
Jerusha says
I will be buying my own copy of God Made You Beautiful…if I win I’ll give it away. Such a wonderful truth that I pray I’ll impart to my two gorgeous daughters…that the Father made them perfectly and is crazy in love with them!

I’d love a copy of this to read to my 3 beautiful girls… but mostly my eldest daughter. She is soon to be 6 yrs old and is very much a “girly girl” always looking at herself in the mirror and such. I dread the day someone tells her that she isn’t perfect because I know God made her perfectly :) Also, it’d be a nice reminder for myself… aging isn’t easy and stress tends to age us quicker LOL it’d be nice to remind myself that I am just prefect as God intended me to be ;)

The little bird and owl are my favorite hair accessories! Love em

My adopted daughters name means beautiful! :)

I have three daughters That are beautiful in Christ. I love teaching them that their worth comes from being a daughter of the king!
Sandra says
I would love that book because our daughter waiting in China has cleft lip/cleft palate and I think it would be wonderful to work through any concerns she might have as she gets older.
Sandra says
I love the Christmas hair clips! All of them!!!
Lisa says
Our daugher, recently adopted from China, was born missing her right forearm. This has caused me to really personally grasp God’s love and value of our hearts (not our appearance) and to impart this truth to all three of my children. BUYING the book in addition to entering the giveaway.
Lisa says
Love the bows in twenty and twenty six.

I would LOVE to win “God Made you Beautiful”! I would have my 6 year old daughter read it to me (because then it counts as homework done too – ha ha) but I think it is important to start early, before the body image issues come into play. And it is more important for her to know how GOD made her beautiful, not just why she is the cutest little girl right now.
Kelleyand says
My favorite hair accessory was #8 – the adorable crochet flowers with the buttons in the middle – brings new meaning to the phrase “cute as a button”.

I would love to win the book to give to my granddaughter—she isn’t taken to church and needs all the positive messages she can get!
Tracye says
My favorite clip—the OWL! LOVE it!
Steph says
We are adopting a little girl from Ethiopia and I would love to read the book to her someday!
Steph says
I love the owls and birds too! And the crocheted flowers. Too many to choose. :)

I would read the book to my 8 yr old daughter that has Down syndrome. So many think people with DS do not understand what is said in their presence, and therefore, say hurtful things. Well, they hear and feel. I try to build her up and help her understand that she is very smart and capable, as well as, beautiful and loved by many.

We have 2 teenage birth daughters and are in the process of adopting a little girl from Honduras. We understand the importance of teaching our daughters about the true beauty that is found within. They are a beautiful creation because they are in created in the image of Christ. This is such a challenge to teach our girls with the draw of the world so strong. Anything that we can use to teach this is wonderful!
Alicia says
I would have to say what a tough choice. They are all adorable! We have started a collection of hair bows and clips for our little girl that we are adopting from Honduras and the one that I was drawn to was #7. So different from what I have seen so far! You have a very talented friend!
Amy Patterson says
I would read the book to my little girl, who is waiting for me in China, and to me, is and will always be, the most beautiful girl in the world, even though she will look nothing like me and I didn’t give birth to her.
Amy Patterson says
My favorite hair clip is the panda…anything with pandas I love because it reminds me of China, where my little girl is waiting.
Vanessa says
I would love to read God Made You Beautiful to our daughter, whose referral we are waiting on, from Korea!

What a great message for our little princesses. Mine would love to have hair like Rupunzel’s. Though it’s fun to pretend, it’s all nice to send the message that we are all just fine the way we are!
Gina says
I love ALL the holiday bows! And the animals ones too! How could you pick just one, or even 5 clips!

My friend is in labor TODAY with her baby girl. This would be such a great message for her daughter who is about to join the world!

I would love to read it to my friend’s daughter who, thanks to so many comments, only thinks she’s beautiful because of her curly red hair. I wish there were a boy version! Boys have insecurities too.

This sounds like a great book! I like the way it focuses on beauty on the inside and not the outside. This reinforces what we are trying tp teach. This book would be for my daughter.

I would read God Made you Beautiful to my 7 year old son. He is aware of the differences in people and we always try to enforce that everyone is/can be beautiful on the inside even if they are not what the “media” deems beautiful on the outside!
