While Ashlyn and I attended the princess party, the boys headed to Phili for a hockey game. We give our kids 3 gifts each for Christmas, based on the 3 gifts from the wise men for Jesus. One gift is practical, something they can use. One gift is experiential, something they can do with us. And, the last gift is their “gold” gift, something they really really want. So, this year, Ashlyn’s experiential gift was tickets to go to the Narnia exhibit at the Franklin Institute. The boys’ experiential gift was tickets to go to a real hockey game with their dad. So, while Ashlyn got dolled up, the boys hockey’ed it up. The pics from Mark’s phone aren’t great quality. But, as Mark put it, they are still “blogworthy.”

Hey…I didn’t know you did the “three wise men” gifts Christmas! I have a link on my blog to an article about that…so I won’t forget for when Izabella gets home. I love it…how fun! You’re such a great mom…ok…love the hockey pics…especially after I read Mark’s comment…it’s sweet. Any hockey players in the family? It’s a crazy sport..very difficult I think..

so I hope you are okay that we are going to steal this idea…I think. Not sure where you all or HOW you all came up with the idea. BUT as long as you are okay with it…then we might do it too.

Steal away. Don’t mind at all. We read it in a magazine when I was either pregnant with Evan or had just had him. We did it from his first Christmas on and just love it.
